CHRISTMAS EVE IN CUSCO
I’m not blogging in order as it’s Christmas Eve and we are in the world’s second highest city, Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire that sits at 11,200 feet in the Andes and is now Catholicism on steroids.
We are staying in a former monastery, it’s now a hotel. When you go out the door of our room there is a three story stone Christ on the hill above us. There is an equally high cross a hill over from him. That is the general vibe of the place.
After spending the day in the Christmas Market, Glenn and I decided to go back to the main square and peak in on the Mass at the Cathedral.
It’s Christmas Day now and no one wants a long blog – so I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I leave you with a few images – they need no explanation but I think they represent the holiday no matter what you may or may not believe.
