THE MARATHON

Nov 1, 2015by tracey Comments

Today I never left the apartment. But it didn’t matter as I had one of the best shows on earth outside my window, where the homestretch of  New York City Marathon took place.  I wrote a proper blog about what marathon running means in life or at least in my life over at Gratitude and Trust.

My favorite people are the wheel chair racers. I’m sorry. Those guys just, what can you say. I am so impressed them that here is  link to the fifty people who entered in the wheelchair division.

But they are all impressive.  50,000 people enter the race and some just go so fast, like winners,  I couldn’t even get their photo.  Or I am that slow.  And then tonight, it’s dark and cold and thousands stumble down the street to complete the race they started this morning. Fifty thousand all going at their own pace, all running their own race.

Bravo to them all!

The way it looked when I woke up this morning.
The way it looked when I woke up this morning.
It stayed that way for awhile.
It stayed that way for awhile.
Then some people appeared and my favorite part, the wheelchair racers started crossing the finish line.

I'm sorry. Just look at the guy!!
I’m sorry. Just look at the guy!!
The first ten had police escorts of their own. Or so it appeared.

More started coming in.
These are some of the r early birds.
And then more started coming.
And then more started coming.
And from the opposite direction.
And from the opposite direction.
