SLEEP WALKING IN SPAIN

Dec 22, 2014by tracey Comments

We arrived in Madrid early today.  It was one of those keep going no matter how tired you are days. Throw your bags in the room and hit the streets.  I saved the museums and things we need to concentrate on for tomorrow when we will be more awake.  We are only here for two days, so we have to cram in as much  as possible as quickly as we can.

Something was up with my camera today so photos not as sharp as they could/should be.  Or perhaps there was something not as sharp about me.

Though we have only been here about nine hours it’s probably not fair to start judging, but we all agreed we prefer Barcelona.

This is very nice, but it’s missing an energy and pulse that I found in Barcelona and it doesn’t have that high voltage, colors galore, in your face quality of Mexico City. I’m just playing Latin Cities I’ve Been To This Year for $200. But still very happy to be here and seeing a new city.

Woke up to this. Approaching Madrid.

Many things are closed in Madrid on Sunday. We heard the San Mercato San Miguel was worth the trip.

They had one stand that sold five different kinds of fried calamari. We all thought of Paul and knew if he were there he would try all of them.

Potato chips are very popular. This store window was full of them. I wanted to buy some but the line was too long. Two Euros for a bag.

I had read about this Tapas Bar and wanted to go. Luckily we literally walked we ran right into it. Well we didn't run into it, we did once we saw it. We found it accidentally.
