BLACK IS BACK
I’m not sure it ever went away, but everyone was trying to replace it with some other color. And then of course five years of blogging Christmas ideas, one starts running out of titles. That being said, tis the season to buy gifts for those near and dear or people we want favors from. So with that in mind, we will have no lords a leaping, but five days of blogging some holiday gift ideas – from the practical to the outrageous. Tis the season you know.
Black Dishes from Crate and Barell. I love the way food looks on black.
BYOBB – Bring your own black beer. Why the hell not?
These are here to stay. If I didn’t already live in them, and I could have one thing from this list it would be black leather skinny pants. They come in all styles and prices. Nobody does them better than Helmut Lang.
Black roses for any lady. I love the idea of these.
Tom Ford Black Orchid Perfume.
This is taking it up several notches. I am having a renewed love affair with all things Alaia. If you want to really LBD it for the one you love. Get her an Alaia black dress. She will wear it for the rest of her life. Unless she drinks too much black beer. Then she can sell it on ebay.
They call this a black smoking shoe. It looks great even if you’ve given up smoking.
Black bottom lucite box from Alexandra von Furstenberg. I think I put one of these up every year. I must really like them.
If you’re passing on the black beer, pour whatever color wine you want in these great black goblets. Made by Reidel. Nobody will know if you are drinking rose in the winter. A good thing, since I do that.
Stocking stuffer or a sweet thing to leave on her night stand to wake up to XMAS morning. A little bit goth, a little bit French, a little bit rock and roll. Chanel Black Velvet Nail Polish.
I don not love men’s shoes on women. But for some reason I like these made by Church. I think with the right thing they could be sexy. And they are very in.
And of course you can never go wrong with The Little Black Book. Smythson.
Let there be black light. Votive candle holders from Glassy Baby.
