BARCELONA – GO TO THE BACK OF THE LINE
Yesterday was a two sight day. It was also a day where we spent a lot of time in line. Normally I buy tickets online in advance. This year things got a little screwy and I didn’t manage it.
We were told if we showed up at the Jean Miro Museum on Sunday there would be no lines. Wrong. We stood in line for an hour and forty – five minutes. We are not a good line standing family. We get impatient. We get cranky. We had four fights while online. Each one of us stormed off at least once. At one point we all stormed off, thus losing our spot. Then we realized we were behaving like fools, so we had to go sneak back in line. From that point on we behaved.
The Foundataion Miro are militant about not taking photos. I am running way behind this am, they forgot to bring my coffee and I over slept. So if you want to read about it click above.
By the time we left there is was 2:00 and we were ready for lunch. We grabbed some mediocre Tapas. Sunday is pretty closed down here. And from there we went to the Sagrada Familia the Gaudi Church that has been under construction for one hundred and thirty years. And it is in no danger of being completed anytime soon. But that does not deter people from lining up for it. It is the number one attraction in Barcelona. Despite the fact we had purchased tickets, we still had to wait in line. We all behaved this time.
Again, no time to explain so if you want to know more click above.
Our tickets included an elevator ride up to an observation deck of sorts on what would be the 20th floor. What they did not include was a ride down. Thus we had to climb it. The staircase was more Gothic than modern.
Yesterday was also our friend Adriana Lopez Sanfeliu’s birthday. We went over to her apartment for a drink to celebrate, but I managed to only get photos of her cat. But Happy Birthday Adriana. And thank you for taking us around your lovely city.
