A DAY IN LA WITH LUCY
I did not call anybody. I just want everyone to know that. If I didn’t call you it is because I didn’t call a soul. We made a brief trip to LA and took Lucy as we have been away more than usual this autumn. Normally we go away together once or twice. We then do our business trips alone. But this fall we have been away together more than usual. So when Glenn had to take a quick trip to LA and I had one meeting there, we decided to take Lucy with us.
This was not a sights and museum, educational trip. It was boys, hair and make-up. Well, OK, no boys. it was hair make-up. eating and some stores. Then we came home. The End.
I swear this was our first stop. They apparently only them in Dubai, The Emirates and LA. Who knew? Lucy knew.
It did not seem that special to me. We waited outside until they opened. But it was her trip. She has schlepped through plenty of Mosques.
When in Rome! We ordered one Hollywood milkshake. We each took one sip. It was awful.
This has nothing to do with anything other than it was a sign I liked on Hollywood Blvd.
I picked this place. It is a makeup store called Napoleon Perdis. It is getting attention. Apparently been around for awhile. He comes from Australia.
He is known for his primer. In fact his motto is “Not to prime is a crime.”
I thought this was the best neutral palette I had ever seen.
Indulge me – I have not done a makeup blog in a long time.
Lucy getting the Hollywood glam look. We both left wearing flash eyelashes. We thought we looked very cool.
Jynnette did our makeup. She is really good. She is also a good salesperson.
Lucy needed hair to go with her lashes. Well, she didn’t. But she needed a haircut. so a stop to Peter Ishkans at Meche.
Then lunch. My favorite has turned into her favorite. La Scala. This is fried mozzarella. I was busy Tweeting about Nelson Mandela when it arrived. So it looks a little eaten.
Lucy swears this is the best penne Bolognese in the world.
I swear this is the best salad.
Over to Robertson.
It’s kind of like paying for a cab, but a little more confusing.
For those of you who may not know this – onsies are all the rage. Yes, those onsies. Like babies wear, feet are preferred. But not if you want to wear heels with them. I am not making this up.
This is Dash – the Kardashian’s store.I told you this was Lucy’s trip. They did not let you take photos inside.
What better way to break a day that started with a milkshake than with a cupcake.
Georgetown Cupcakes is making its way across the country. When did this whole cupcake thing start?
Another favorite – Fred Segal in Santa Monica.
Not a favorite – the way XMAS looks in the LA light. Palm tress and decorations.
But those trees look nice in the morning
Happy camper. BTW – bag is mine.
Almost forgot the bed. Grabbed this on the way to the airport.
