While I embrace most forms of social media and cyber life with a passion I am still holding onto the handwritten note as a form of personal communication. I can't imagine I will ever stop buying notecards, notepaper and pens, nor stop sending sentiments of thanks, congratulations and sympathies the old fashioned way.
HOLDING ON TO THE HANDWRITTEN NOTE
While I embrace most forms of social media and cyber life with a passion I am still holding onto the handwritten note as a form of personal communication. I can’t imagine I will ever stop buying notecards, notepaper and pens, nor stop sending sentiments of thanks, congratulations and sympathies the old fashioned way. I’m not saying those that come through the computer are any less meaningful, it’s just for me there are times and occasions when I prefer to sit down and write to someone. And it’s amazing how appreciative and surprised people are when they get a note these days. I know am. I have boxes filled with every note and letter I receive. I love buying stationary and picking out fonts. I love the surprise of the the linings in envelopes when you rip them open. I love everything about them. My favorite company of the moment is Thornwillow Press.
Both my girls have notepaper with their names on it as does Glenn. Whenever they run out I immediately replenish it. So long live the note and note card! Sit down and write a note to someone today, I promise you you will make their day.
