Your fifties are really the time when you can and often do make big changes in your life. I have known James Poll aka Jimmy for many years. Anyone who hangs out on Lexington Avenue in the mid 70’s in New York has run into and most likely knows, Jimmy. He is sort of the mayor of the street. He is a teddy bear of a guy, brimming with warmth and kindness. I stopped by his families shop William Poll last week and he filled me in on some of the truly big changes he has made in his life when he realized he was in his 50’s. Much like Bobby, I can’t write stories that are better than these people’s lives. So I give you Jimmy Poll. If he can do what he has done ~ trust me anyone can.

Your fifties are really the time when you can and often do make big changes in your life.
People who are smart, realize they are not thirty, that if they really want to do something now is the time; you are still young enough, hopefully healthy enough and you have time to get good at something, enjoy it and master it. It’s a time when people often find new careers, take up new hobbies and begin or end relationships. There is a ticking clock attached to 50 – I don’t care what anyone says. It doesn’t mean the bell is going to go off any time soon. But one does realize we aren’t in Kansas anymore.
And of course you can do all these things along the road from 50 – 80 if again you stay healthy and curious and keep moving forward.
The first step is keep yourself healthy.
The other is do those things you have always wanted to do – just do them. Don’t let anyone say, you’re too old or it’s too late.

OK – it might be too late to be a brain surgeon. You’re probably not going to be dancing with the ABT, but there are a ton of things out there ~ you have endless opportunities. You just have to make it happen for yourself. You have to set your goals and just make it work.
Today’s Vlog is another really inspirational one.
