I'm sitting at Logan waiting for the shuttle which is three hours late. I have my two girls with me so since it's Mother's Day, everything is fine. We left Dad back at hotel as he has to do business at Harvard tomorrow and we are off to meet Grandma Lynne and Grandpa Aaron to have Mother's Day dinner with them. That is if their plane gets in through the wind.

HERE COMES THE BRIDE

I’m sitting at Logan waiting for the shuttle which is three hours late. I have my two girls with me so since it’s Mother’s Day,  everything  is fine.  We left Dad back at hotel as he has to do business at Harvard tomorrow and we are off to meet Grandma Lynne and Grandpa Aaron to have Mother’s Day dinner with them. That is if their plane gets in through the wind.

BTW – Karl Lagerfield did accept me as his FB friend. But as Lucy pointed out Jennifer Aniston accepted her and it isn’t much of a relationship  – yet.   Bob Dylan accepted me and then dumped me very quickly – not the first time in my life. And as we know  FB can be a fickle land of smoke and mirrors.  But Karl, well he adds a certain something to the Friends List. I actually don’t know him, though Glenn does. And  he was Glenn’s FB friend which of course Glenn didn’t know as Lucy mans his FB site.  Once I found Karl there I decided to take over. This is totally another blog about how to swipe friends from others on FB and don’t really trust your page to a ten year old. Though she has done a pretty good job. She just hasn’t been sharing who Dad’s friends are.

The big event is Sarah Funke’s wedding to Patrick Butler and that is what  I will blog about.

It rained all day but stopped for the three o’clock ceremony; a very good sign.  It was very sunny for my first wedding and that turned into a  disaster. So I think rain, moving to clouds back to rain is the way to go. And the Indians feel it is very good luck. Going on my experience I tend to agree. So meteorlogically as well as all other ways Patrick and Sarah are in great shape!

The ceremony took place at St. Paul’s Church in Cambridge and the reception was at the Harvard Club. It was a very Harvard weekend, though there were several Yale Alumni in attendance.

I had my mediocre camera that fits in my evening bag.  And we all know even with my better camera I’m not Annie Lebowitz; though if you check out my Tumblr today I took a great shot this AM.  Taylor said so and she is the family photographer.

So with my feeble eye and miss named point and shoot – I captured the wonderful event as best I could.

The first issue was could I wear these shoes in Boston in the pouring rain? Were they too SJP and not really Harvard?
Nothing else would work - plus the rain stopped. For Sarah - not my shoes.
He had a shoe issue too - his heel fell off at the church. He was walking on nails. Don't even go there. So we had to go back to the hotel and get him another pair before the reception.
There she is. Too perfect.
The amazing Allsion Fraser( who sang) and her friend Ray.
Katie Vagnino ( who also sang) with her friend Michael (who sang with her)
The cake is usually my favorite part of any party. I had three pieces. I did. I swear.
How cool is this they had books as centerpieces and everyone got to take one home. The books are carefully chosen - trust me.
Glenn danced with Sarah - this is a big deal- trust me on this too.
Allison and I did not dance with each other. But there is always next time.
Weddings bring out the romance in everyone. I don' think they had far too go!

The newlyweds towards the end of the evening. Six hours until they had to catch a plane to the Maldives. I wonder if they are there yet?
